Is The HCG Diet For You?
Category:The HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) diet is gaining more and more popularity. Even though it’s been around since 1954 when a British doctor (Dr. Simeons) discovered it, it really took ‘off’ starting in 2000. It’s been featured on national television stations like NBC, Oprah’s talked about it and it was also talked about in the popular best-selling book The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau.
What is the HCG diet?
This diet is a very low-calorie diet. You will only be allowed to consume 500 a day. Along with the calorie restriction, you will have to give yourself daily HCG injections or take it orally. Because of the calorie restriction, it has been considered a very controversial diet. Of course, as with other diet programs, it’s an individual decision as to whether the diet is for you or not. Take the quiz below to see if the HCG diet is for you.

Scoring – Total up your numbers.
If you scored 20-25 points you are definitely ready to jump on board with the HCG diet. You know the requirements and are ready to make the changes and give yourself a daily shot or take drops orally. You’re ready to do whatever it takes to make it work.
If you scored 15-19 points you probably aren’t quite ready but if you do go forward with it, you’ll need to remind yourself often of the reasons that you made the choice to follow this diet in the first place.
If you scored 14 or fewer points, the HCG diet may not be right for you. Even if you scored low it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, it just means you need to weigh your options and think long and hard if you’ve got the drive and determination to stick with it. This diet won’t work for everyone but it does have its benefits for those that can make it work.
If you feel sure about this diet, remember that you can always switch gears down the road. This isn’t a lifelong commitment. You can try it for a few weeks or a few months and if you find it’s not working, it’s easy to change gears.
